The Godspeed Leadership and Mentorship Development Initiative (GLEMDI) has honoured the member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Rep. Daniel Amos, and Senator Sunday Marshall Katung with awards recognising their contributions to public service, leadership and community development.
Rep. Amos received an Award of Excellence in recognition of his constituent-focused representation and commitment to community development.
The award was presented during the Head Boys and Girls Leadership and Mentorship Retreat held at the Kafanchan Campus of Kaduna State University (KASU).
The award was received on behalf of the lawmaker by his Senior Assistant on Media and Publicity, Victor Hassan Dabo, alongside his Local Government Coordinator, Hon. Ben Gambo, and his Media Assistant, Agatha Augustine.
Senator Katung was also honoured at the retreat, which focused on youth development, leadership and mentorship as essential tools for preparing young people for future responsibilities.
The initiative emphasised the importance of providing young people with guidance, credible role models and opportunities to translate their potential into meaningful contributions to society.
According to the organisers’ message, youth development requires more than encouragement; it demands sustained mentorship, character-building and practical opportunities to nurture confidence, responsibility and purposeful leadership.
The recognition of the two public office holders highlighted the role of experienced leaders in inspiring the younger generation and encouraging responsible citizenship.
The retreat further reinforced the importance of mentorship in equipping young people with the values, skills and confidence needed to contribute to community development and national progress.
The event concluded with congratulations to Senator Katung and Rep. Amos on their recognition.
