The Christmas Carol, themed “Joy to the World,” was held with the support of the Kaduna State Government under the administration of Governor Uba Sani. The event underscored the governor’s commitment to inclusive governance and the recognition of all religions on the basis of shared humanity.
Observers described the gathering as a symbolic and practical demonstration of peaceful coexistence in a state that has, in the past, experienced religious and communal tensions. By hosting the carol in a location seen as crossing long-standing divides, the event sent a strong message of unity, tolerance, and equal belonging for all citizens, irrespective of faith.
Speaking on the significance of the event, participants noted that the carol went beyond religious celebration, serving as a platform for promoting mutual respect and social harmony. Hymns and messages of peace, hope, and goodwill dominated the atmosphere, reinforcing calls for sustained interfaith understanding in the state.
The 2025 Christmas Carol aligns with Governor Uba Sani’s broader peace-building agenda, which emphasises dialogue, inclusion, and reconciliation among Kaduna’s diverse communities. The administration has repeatedly stressed that sustainable development and security can only be achieved in an environment of trust and unity.
Many residents and stakeholders have described the event as a landmark moment that will be remembered in Kaduna’s history as a step toward healing old divisions and strengthening peaceful coexistence across religious and communal lines.
