Troops of the Nigerian Army have neutralized four suspected terrorists and successfully rescued two kidnapped victims during a coordinated security operation around Dokan Karji and Kwassam communities in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The operation, which took place yesterday, followed actionable intelligence on the movement and activities of armed terrorists terrorizing the area. According to security sources, the troops engaged the criminals in a fierce gun battle, resulting in the neutralization of four of them, while others fled the scene with possible gunshot wounds.
During the operation, two victims who had been abducted by the terrorists were rescued alive and in stable condition. The victims have since been reunited with their families after preliminary medical checks and debriefing by security personnel.
The troops also recovered items suspected to have been used by the terrorists, while clearance operations were extended to surrounding bushes and hideouts to prevent regrouping by fleeing elements.
Residents of Dokan Karji and Kwassam communities have expressed relief following the operation, describing it as a major boost to security in the area, which has recently witnessed incidents of banditry and kidnappings.
Military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining aggressive operations against terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements across Kaduna State and the wider North West region, assuring residents that efforts will continue until lasting peace is restored.
