The Youth Council of Nigeria (YOCEN) has honoured Rt. Hon. Ali Kalat, Member representing Jema’a State Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, with the title Vanguard of Youth Empowerment in Nigeria.
The recognition was conferred during a Legacy Courtesy Visit and Noble Prize Award of Credence led by the Secretary General of YOCEN Nigeria, Engr. Yakubu Nurudeen Yahaya.

According to the organisation, the award was in appreciation of Rt. Hon. Kalat’s outstanding contributions to qualitative service delivery, workers’ welfare, human emancipation and sustainable development.

Speaking during the visit, Engr. Yahaya commended the lawmaker for his dedication to human capacity building, advocacy for workers’ welfare in offices he has occupied, and the initiation of several empowerment programmes, including training and skills development schemes. He noted that these efforts have significantly supported the actualisation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the area of decent work and economic growth.

In an interview with YOCEN’s Public Engagement team, Rt. Hon. Kalat said his vision is driven by patriotism and a desire to bridge gaps in critical sectors of national development.

He stressed the need for quality education, skills acquisition and innovation, which, according to him, informed his partnerships with reputable organisations to improve opportunities for young people.

Beyond his charitable interventions in his constituency, the lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to job creation, youth empowerment and economic development, describing them as the foundation for building a better nation.

On behalf of YOCEN Nigeria, Engr. Yahaya pledged the organisation’s continued support for Rt. Hon. Kalat’s human capacity development initiatives. He also expressed YOCEN’s readiness to collaborate with credible organisations in promoting effective service delivery across the country.

The honour, YOCEN said, reaffirms Rt. Hon. Ali Kalat’s position as a key figure in Nigeria’s socio-political landscape and a source of inspiration for communities seeking growth and transformation.
