The Member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dan Amos, has praised Engr. Joseph Ciroma for stepping down from the Kaduna South Senatorial race in support of incumbent Senator Sunday Marshall Katung ahead of the party primaries.
Amos gave the commendation on Sunday during the inauguration of his campaign team at his constituency office in Kafanchan, headquarters of Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
He described Ciroma’s decision as a mark of political maturity and sacrifice, stressing that such moves are vital for fostering party unity and boosting electoral success.
“Engr. Ciroma has demonstrated empathy and foresight. His decision to step down in support of Senator Katung reflects a strong commitment to the collective interest of both the people and the party,” Amos said.
The lawmaker expressed optimism about Katung’s chances in the upcoming elections, pointing to his track record and strong grassroots backing across the senatorial district.
Amos also highlighted the strength of his political structure, revealing that he engages nearly 300 legislative aides across the constituency, all of whom are on regular salaries.
“With close to 300 legislative aides under my office receiving salaries, and with this level of grassroots engagement, it will be difficult for any opposition to defeat us,” he stated.
He noted that the inauguration of his campaign team signals the start of intensified mobilisation efforts ahead of the polls, urging party supporters to remain united.
Amos reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation, pledging to sustain the delivery of democratic dividends to his constituents.
