A House of Representatives hopeful for the Zango Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency, Engr. Seth Bakut, has reaffirmed his commitment to equity, justice, and the preservation of longstanding political arrangements aimed at fostering peace and unity in the constituency.

Bakut, in a message of appreciation to supporters who have designed and distributed campaign posters on his behalf, thanked them for their creativity, dedication, and belief in his political movement.

He stressed that his aspiration was not about personal ambition but about upholding the wisdom of past leaders who, despite Zango Kataf’s numerical advantage, embraced fairness by allowing the House of Representatives seat to rotate between Zango Kataf and Jaba Local Government Areas.

According to him, the same principle of mutual respect is reflected in the longstanding gentleman’s agreement within Zango Kataf Local Government, where the position of Local Government Chairman rotates between the two state constituencies.

Bakut noted that such arrangements have traditionally transcended political party affiliations because they are founded on equity, peace, and mutual trust.

He urged residents of the constituency to make decisions that would preserve the harmony established by previous generations, warning against actions that could undermine the spirit of fairness and coexistence.
The ADC chieftain also pledged to continue speaking truth to those in authority regardless of the consequences, adding that history would ultimately judge his actions and contributions to the constituency.

Bakut is seeking to represent the Zango Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
