…Book launch holds October 29 in Abuja
Group News Editor of LEADERSHIP Newspaper, Dr. Sunday Isuwa, has authored a new book examining the impact of digital transformation on Nigeria’s newspaper industry.
Titled Digital Shift in Nigeria’s Newspaper Industry, the book explores how technology is reshaping newsroom operations, journalism practice, business models and audience engagement.
The book will be launched on October 29, 2026, at 10am at the Conference Hall of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) headquarters, Jabi, Abuja.
President of the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN), Prof. Rotimi Olatunji of Lagos State University, wrote the foreword, while NOUN Vice Chancellor, Prof. Uduma Oji Uduma, will review the book.
Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, and the Chairman of the National Credit Guarantee Company Limited (NCGC) are expected to chair the event.
Professor Umaru Pate of Bayero University, Kano, described the publication as a timely examination of newsroom adaptation, multimedia reporting, audience analytics, emerging revenue strategies, misinformation and changing audience behaviour.
Similarly, Professor Farooq Kperogi of Kennesaw State University, United States, said the book provides an important account of how Nigerian newspapers are adapting their editorial routines, business models and audience strategies to the digital era.
NAN Managing Director/CEO, Ali M. Ali, described the publication as a comprehensive account of the transformation of the Nigerian press, covering its historical development, technological changes, ethical challenges and the future of newspaper publishing.
The launch is expected to attract prominent media professionals, academics, policymakers and other stakeholders interested in the future of journalism in Nigeria.
