The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Comrade Jerry Adams, has called on youths and citizens of Southern Kaduna to embrace unity, strategic thinking and responsible use of social media in advancing the development of the region.

Adams made the call on Sunday, September 20, 2026, when he attended the Extra-Ordinary Congress of the Southern Kaduna Peoples United (SOKAPU), Plateau State Chapter, held in Jos.

The congress had the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, as Special Guest of Honour, represented by his Senior Special Adviser on Religious Affairs.
Also in attendance were the National President of SOKAPU, Engr. Tabara Samuel Kato, and the Chairman of the Plateau State Chapter, Professor Abraham G. Dogo, who delivered the welcome address.

Speaking at the gathering, Adams urged youths to prioritise strategy over sentiment and position themselves to make meaningful contributions to the development of their communities.

He cautioned against the use of social media for insults and uninformed commentary, stressing the need for responsible digital citizenship, maturity and constructive engagement.

According to him, criticism is an integral part of leadership and should be approached constructively rather than through personal attacks or sentiments.

Adams also highlighted what he described as key development initiatives and interventions benefiting Southern Kaduna under the administrations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani.

Among the projects and interventions he referenced were the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia; the proposed special military cantonment in Zangon Kataf; the Skills Acquisition Centre in Samaru-Kataf; rural and urban road projects; healthcare infrastructure, including the Federal Medical Centre; as well as strategic political appointments involving indigenes of the region.

He called for sustained unity and constructive participation by the people, particularly youths, in efforts aimed at advancing the interests and development of Southern Kaduna.
