Community development associations representing the 57 ethnic nationalities of Southern Kaduna have commended Senator Sunday Marshall Katung for his support to security operations in the region, particularly Operation Safe Haven, Sector 7 in Kafanchan.

In a letter dated April 27, 2026, the groups expressed appreciation to the senator for what they described as “decisive, behind-the-scenes commitment” to improving security in the area.

According to the letter, the associations became aware of Katung’s contributions through engagements with the Sector Commander, noting that the lawmaker has been actively supporting operations through intelligence sharing and direct financial assistance aimed at strengthening operational capacity.

“Southern Kaduna has endured prolonged insecurity, and it is the practical support of leaders like Senator Katung, beyond political rhetoric, that makes a tangible difference on the ground,” the statement read.
The groups further praised the senator’s willingness to work closely with security personnel, describing it as a reflection of responsibility to both his constituents and the wider region.

They urged him to sustain the partnership with security agencies to consolidate gains in peace and stability.

“The people of Southern Kaduna are grateful, and we pray that your service to this region and to Nigeria remains guided by the same spirit of selflessness and dedication,” the letter added.
The appreciation letter was signed by the Chairman of the Southern Kaduna Autochthones Community Development Associations, Dr. Achie T. Samuel, and the Secretary, Dr. Simon J. Majimre.
