The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), has commissioned the Kaduna Christian Academy in Ungwan Sunday, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna State, describing the school as a strategic investment in peace, security and national development.
The academy, built by the Department of State Services (DSS) for the community and the general public, was inaugurated during a ceremony attended by government officials, community leaders and residents.
Speaking at the event, General Musa commended the DSS for extending its role beyond intelligence and security operations to community development, noting that education remains a powerful tool against ignorance, radicalisation and insecurity.
He said the project demonstrates that lasting security is achieved not only through military operations but also through investments in education and human capital development.
The Defence Minister urged students, parents and community members to protect the facility and make good use of it, stressing that an educated population is less vulnerable to extremist ideologies and criminal activities.
Musa also praised the Kaduna State Government for providing an enabling environment for the project and called on youths to work closely with security agencies to promote peace and development.
He formally declared the Kaduna Christian Academy open for use by residents of Sabon Tasha and the wider Kaduna community.
