Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, has hosted two First-Class Law graduates of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, and pledged to sponsor their Nigerian Law School education in full.

The beneficiaries are Shimnah Daniel Sabo from Kauru Local Government Area and Rosemary Obadiah Mamman from Sanga Local Government Area.

The two graduates were received by Senator Katung at his office at the National Assembly in Abuja, where he commended them for their outstanding academic achievement and described them as “pride and shining ambassadors of Southern Kaduna.”

Senator Katung said the scholarship would cover their Law School fees in full, ensuring that financial constraints would not stand in the way of their professional aspirations to be called to the Nigerian Bar.

He particularly emphasised the importance of supporting the education and advancement of young women as part of his human capital development agenda.

According to him, Southern Kaduna is endowed with significant intellectual potential, particularly among its young people and women.

“Your First Class from ABU is not just your personal victory; it is our collective pride. You have proven that our daughters can compete and lead anywhere. My duty is to ensure that nothing stops you from being called to the Bar. Go and make Southern Kaduna proud again at the Law School,” Katung told the graduates.

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Senator for what they described as his fatherly support and commitment to education.

They pledged to justify the confidence reposed in them and serve as worthy ambassadors of Kaduna South and Southern Kaduna at the Law School and beyond.

The scholarship intervention is part of Senator Katung’s broader education-focused initiatives, which include local and foreign scholarships, support for indigent students and interventions in educational infrastructure across Kaduna South Senatorial District.
